This half term we will be looking at a range of fairytales and Roald Dahl's Revolting Rhymes. We will use these to help us write play scripts and our own fractured fairytales.
We will also be developing our use of figurative language and dialogue using Beauty and the Beast for inspiration.
During reading lessons, we will be using the text Hansel and Gretel by Neil Gaiman to develop our comprehension and inference skills.
Our first topic in Year 6 is Crime and Punishment.
We will be looking in detail at how crimes and their punishments have changed since the Roman times to modern day.
This half term we will be basing our English work on The Highway Man, a poem by Alfred Noyes and Alex Rider: Stormbreaker by Anthony Horowitz.
We will be developing our skills writing diary entries, information texts, letters, newspaper articles and narratives.
