Warren Primary School

Building tomorrow today

Welcome

Welcome to Warren Weavers, where we provide an extended school day for the children in a safe, warm and stimulating environment. The children can play, learn and develop freely and are cared for, encouraged and supported by our qualified, experienced and friendly staff.

STAFFING UPDATE: As most of you are already aware, Clare left Weavers at the end of the summer term after working here for almost a decade. Clare is now manager of the out of school provision at Harris Academy but she has asked to be bank staff for us in the holidays, so you may still see her on the rare occasion. Gemma is now Weavers Deputy Manager, so I'm sure you will join us in wishing them both the best of luck in their new roles. We have also recruited a new playworker, Lalitha Matravadi. Lalitha is level 3 qualified and has previous experience as a childminder and tutor, as well as volunteering in Warren Primary as a classroom assistant for over a year. She has settled into our team very quickly and the children have taken to her really well. For the benefit of Christmas cards etc. as we get asked this question every year, the school staff working within Weavers on a regular basis are: Jo Whitlock, Nicola Nicholls, Angela Hook and Parminder Kaur.

REMINDERS:

THE SCHOOL CAR PARK: Weavers parents should not be using the staff car park. We are aware in the past you were able to do so in the evenings when it was less busy however, we have now learnt that the barrier has to remain down for health and safety reasons. If it is left up, then it can be subject to wind shear and eventually fail.

WEAVERS ROUTINE: Outdoor play is from approximately 3:30- 4.10 PM and dinner time is from 4:15-4:45 PM, these are the busiest parts of the session. Although Weavers parents/carers can obviously collect at any time during session, collections during these periods can be particularly disruptive. We would therefore prefer if children could be collected outside of these times if at all possible.

FOOD BROUGHT TO WEAVERS: As we have an increasing number of pupils with significant allergies within the school (many of whom attend Weavers) could all parents/carers please not send their children to Breakfast Club with their own food items. We have an array of cereals on offer plus a large selection of fruit and yoghurt so we can cater for all children who wish to enjoy a healthy breakfast at Weavers, if they haven't already eaten at home. This is to keep all children at Weavers as safe as possible. The Warren Weavers Team
