On Thursday 7th March, the whole school celebrated World Book Day. Children (and staff!) dressed up as their favourite book character and took part in lots of fun, book-based activities in class. Activities ranged from reenacting ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt’ using props (which the children thoroughly enjoyed); drawing a scenario depicting and describing what they would do to their teacher if they had 'the magic finger' (like the girl in the Roald Dahl book who turned her teacher into a cat!); writing character descriptions of their favourite characters; using ‘The Iron Man’ to visualize a scene and create a piece of art to represent it and creating a group story board based on WWII using historic artefacts. The children had a fantastic day and can’t wait for the ‘Share a Story’ even next Wednesday 13th March.
